Two broken ball joint housing to strut bolts. What should I do? Will a '83 strut and hub fit my '89?

Ahhhhrg.
I was doing a front end job; outer tie rods, ball joints, struts, and rotors. Had one side finished and had the strut already replaced and just had to do the ball joint and two of the studs broke! I did notice on the other side that when I cleaned the studs before putting them back on that one of them did not look like the other three as it was coated with rust, so I took a cleaner one off of a spare strut tower I had in the garage. On the side where the two snapped however the ones that came out were all coated with rust as were the pieces of the ones that broke.
I am skeptical of trying to remove the broken studs as I am pressed for time and I do not have any reverse threaded drill bits or easy outs, and still there is the possibility of it not coming out anyway and or mangling the threads.
I have another strut tube and hub assembly from an earlier 240. It has non-vented rotor and caliper to match. I was thinking that if I take every thing off of my one with the broken studs (which is an '89 244) like the spring, the rotor, and caliper, and the new strut I just put in, that maybe the thing will match then?

I have heard that they are all interchangable but I would prefer to know for certain before re-assembling everything and for safety reasons as my kids will be riding in the car.
Thanks for your help and advice,
Kyle
