Volvo factory rust treatment? 120-130

I've finally found time to strip the undercoating and treat any lurking rust. When I cleaned up the floorpans a couple years ago I neglected to treat the backside as the undercoat looked solid. Dumb.

Getting some rust peeking through again so I decided to get to the backside as well. Just strip, wirebrush, treat with Picklex, and ZeroRust paint. Simple and relatively safe.

I did the interior pans with POR and have since learned a bit more about isocyanates and will stay far away from these unless I have the proper gear. I've had some exposure to bad things due to ignorant management at a couple of shops and now take it upon myself to find out if materials are "OK" or not.

Anyone know what Volvo did at the factory to address corrosion besides the undercoat?

Great idea except for the bad window seals and jute mats that lets the rust eat from inside. Undercoat also seals the floor drain holes, seems like I've found some rust around every one these sealed by the tar. One of the few bad ideas in these cars.

But the amount of rust is surprisingly small given the age of the car. However it did grow up in California.

I'm just wondering if I should leave as much intact regarding what Volvo did or remove as much as possible to see if there are any other problems hiding under there.
