79 GT will start, but not run...Fuel pumps and electric ok, what now? 200

Just did a head gasket, cleaned a bunch of stuff, checked harness outside of car and put it all back together. It starts beautifully, runs for all of about 2 seconds, then dies. It will do it another 1-2x, then won't start again for another 30 seconds or so. Pumping the gas does nothing.

It's got spark to all 4 cylendars, and it's not the fuel pumps, I bridged the relay. I had a very similar problem in my '84, which turned out to be a bad ground on the relay. I grounded the black wire with the fuel pumps going, started it up and it acted the same.

So now it's kind of a mystery, I'm not sure what to do next.
any thoughts? Thanks guys!
