1990 740turbo is killing me! 700

Hey all,
I had this intermittant shutdown, so I replaced the radio suppression and fuel injection relays. Took a 500 mile trip in high heat this past weekend and it ran like a top!.
But yesterday, it starts again, but differently. At 70 mph, hums along, then poof! rpm's drop down, nothing when you hit the gas, then within a second, its back fine again. Came up to an intersection later, and it starts to die again. Shut it off, restart...fine.then a few minutes later, same thing, rpm drops down, booster indicator goes up in the yellow zone, but without it really kicking in..then in seconds, all is well.
Only other thing I noticed when its acting up like this, when after a drive and letting the turbo cool down in park, the rpm's go up and down rhythmically.
Any thoughts on what next to go after?
I just don't understand this why it ran so great for an entire weekend trip, then it starts back up again.
