Hi Donnie,

Can you recall when this began to happen? Was this a feature of your '89 when you acquired the car? It sounds a lot like a problem that could happen during a clutch replacement or rear seal change. Here's an example in a recent thread where the flywheel or flexplate was shifted in orientation by just one bolt hole. Is yours an auto or a stick?

By the way, if you get to the point where you want to check the flexplate position, post again, I found a way much easier than pulling the starter, given you've already had your crank position sensor changed.
