Cherry is dead 140-160

I have a 1974 164E and all last night she ran fine but this morning when I went to go to work she started up but died. I have a brand new fuel pump and filter. Also the last few days I would be driving and all of a sudden the gas pedal would fall all the way down and she would accelerate, after a few seconds or stepping on the brake she would let go of the pedal and slow down. My college classes start next monday so I really need to get this fixed. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks
Sara
