Gear Selector Mounting Bolts 200 1993

Hello again,

I just purchased a new/old 93 245 that has been sort of neglected by the PO. One item in particular which is giving me fits is the two mounting bolts just above the driveshaft that secure the gear selector. When I picked up the car, both mounting bolts were missing and the shifter was loose as a goose.

Using a flexible 1/4 drive, I was able to get on of the bolts in place, gooped up with lots of threadlocker. Afterwards, I was able to use my 1/4" ratchet, extension and wobble socket to fully tighten the bolt. However, try as I might, I couldn't install the second bolt (the one towards the front).

The gearshifter is infinitely better now, but is still sloppy and I'd like to get that second bolt in. I've never disassembled the driveshaft and hope someone has a better idea or suggestions.

Best regards to all you brickheads!
