Sorry, guess I was unclear in my initial posting. The car has an M40 in it now, but it was ORIGINALLY an automatic. My concern is that because going from an auto to a standard involved some custom fabrication for the support system (at least I understand that it did/does, and the angle iron pieces on either side holding the rear trans support don't look stock), what is on my car might not accomodate the OD trans. I've only had the chance once to quickly climb under another Amazon with an OD trans and things looked different from my car. Didn't have a tape measure or anything with me to take down some figures.
So, I guess I wonder if someone can tell me if the support that's on the back of the trans now is like the one that would be on the back of an OD trans, or if I'm going to have to do additional fabricating, etc. Also wonder how much weight the OD adds, as the angle iron the support is bolted to is sort of 'cantelevered' forward- it seems pretty solid, but I wouldn't want to add a whole lot of additioinal weight to it.
I'm sure the tunnel would accomodate the OD on the back of the trans- the tunnels on cars originally equipped with an auto are HUGE!
