Broken gear selector sliding plate 444-544

Would like to know if anyone has run into the problem of the gear selector sliding plate breaking and what is the remedy for this or where can a replacement part be purchased? Due to the fact that it is made from potmetal, welding it is out of the question. Have seen this in two transmisions so far, a M40 and a M41.
