TAB questions, first gear shutter, quick fix... 200 1985

I have an '85 240 Wagon and I think the TAB's are bad. It is a five speed, in first gear when you are just starting out the rear end shutters pretty good. I think it is the trailing arm bushings, but the thing is this car is rusting away, it is a total POS and i don't have the time or money to fix it right. Is there a way I can stop the shutter without replacing the TAB's? I am handy and have a welder, you see where I am going... just wondering if anyone has done this before.

thanks brickboard!
