wagon rear spring length? 700

Hi there - I'm new here and so is my '92 745Ti. It's been a happy couple of weeks sofar, but the rear of my wagon seems to be sitting a little lower than most of the others I've seen. When I took a peek, the rear coils seem to be non-stock. They appear to have a progressive wind and are worn out (three coils are basically touching each other near the top of the spring). I'd like to replace these with a stock set from a salvage yard, but I want to make sure that the springs I grab will provide an improvement in ride height. Does anyone know how to tell dead springs from good ones? are there uncompressed length differences I should be looking for? general mileage? any other models that I can grab springs from to do the trick? I had heard that the sedans and wagons don't have the same springs, so I'm on the lookout for wagon springs, but it's always nice to know what else will fit. Thanks,

Andrew.
