OD disengage light and rear deforster switch 200 1992

I've been having trouble lately with the car. For no reason while driving or when I sart it will disengage 4th gear and the light on the pannel will come on. I have an Automatic. Sometimes the light will go back out but pressing the button on the shifter does nothing. It used to turn the light off and on and I assume engage and disengage 4th gear. I've looked on here and seen that sometimes this means the relay is bad.


Today it started and the light was out, everything was great. I was drving and I cut on the rear window defroster and the light there didnt cut on but the Disengage 4th gear light popped up. What could this possibly mean? Are the the two related?
