Its a good question and I would also like to here about what's involved. The tone rings are going to be different. The 1990 has a stamped steel one with less holes than the gear one on the ABS car. The 1990 has a Dana axle and the 1993 an Eaton. 740's came with ABS on Dana axle's so you might be able to use the differential cover and ABS tone gear from that car and retrofit it to your 1990 axle.
