Poor performing air conditioner, not blowing well at all on my 1993 240... 200 1993

My air was blowing plenty cold, just not very hard out of 3 of 4 vents. One vent was blowing fine. Thought it might be a vacuum problem but after investigation found it was not a vacuum problem. When I got up under the dash and pushed the button to open the recirculation door I found it opened just fine. When I put my hand up on the A/C coil fins inside though I discovered my problem. Without a filter here, the coils had what felt like a shag carpet of filth coating them. I got a bucket and sponge and proceeded to wash the coils out as best I could considering the tight space they were in. After I got finished I reassembled the dash plate and the A/C almost froze me to death it works so good now. Hope this helps someone.
