89 240 loud banging noise near rear of engine when running 200

posted by  someone claiming to be kris carlson on  Fri Aug 19 17:21 CST 2005 [RELATED]

it does not make this noise when the engine is cranking over and the car has no loss of power ...but the noise is very intimidating ;as in loud! it is an automatic....any ideas?...thanks,Kris
