headlights & wipers ground problem 700 1988

I've got 88 745 gle 240K miles. This problem occurred after removing left headlight brackets to work on hood release cable problem. (also was working drivers side footwell near hood release lever). Fixed the hood cable and went to start the car and wipers come on when headlights are on (I always leave the headlight switch on - took a while to tie the two together). Rear tailgate and front wipers start up. Front starts after short delay when turn ignition switch. Searched the forum and found it must be related to ground. Cleaned gnd points on left front fender by headlights and even the right side too as mentioned in post.

Still problem. Where else can I look for grounds to clean and verify? Checked neg battery gnd and get continuity.
