1989 Bertone--Need price advice, help with problems? 700

Hello everyone--
I have a friend who's looking at a 1989 Bertone Coupe. 80,000 miles showing(very low!). He's not a car guy, and it's in Texas--too far for me to check out from here in Oregon. Anyway--he tells me it drives well, but that two gauges are not working on the dash--the fuel gauge and temp gauge. Sounds like the engine looks average--neither pristine or filthy. No apparent leaks in sunroof (i.e. no stains on headliner). The asking price is $2000. Body is straight, it seems to have the right wheels, but the passenger seat is trashed.
What's the right price for this car?
I told him to get it to a Volvo mechanic for a pre-purchase inspection.
This price seems high to me--but it is the Bertone....
