Rubber Flex Joint.. When to replace? 200 1989

Looking under the car the other day. That Flex Joint has cracks in it. Certainly not all the way through but almost like dry rot stress marks.

I never see any threads on this part. What are some symptoms (other then visual) that would point me to replacing this part?

I have a slight chatter, not even a chatter just a little bounce when I just start off from a complete stop (M47 manual trani). I'm not sure if it's rear bushing time again or if maybe there is a slight Wind-up of this rubber Flex Joint. This 'bounce' seems more pronounced when there is more weight in the car.
