Getting feet wet with OBD II, have 'Check Engine' on .... S90-V90

so next is to go to AutoZone and have it scanned.

Next - and thanks to a Brickster - write down the code(s) they find.

Looked in the Onwer's Manual for explanatin of warning lights, and found, like most other things "Take car to authorized Volvo Dealer..." which, like, Plan "D" or "E".

What are the steps after scanning?

I am suspicious of having cracked coil packs, from something I read in the dealer's service record that came with the car. On several of the more recent pages of that record I found a number of cases where "customer declined repair" was stated after tech did a check-up on complaint. Customer was probably unwilling to invest more, is my guess.
