Not too happy with my recent purchase of Dan Block front & rear brake pads. I needed new rear rotors as well, seeing these are Brembo, I'm ok with them.
So...
The SQUEAL!!! AHHH, THE SQUEAL! I'm ripping these pads out tomorrow, and going to purchase OE Volvo pads. It's the rears that are squealing, I've tried anti squeal compound, made sure the pistons are sitting in their bores correctly, all that stuff....
It is INCREDIBLY LOUD!!
Anyone ever experience this problem with these pads?? Yes, the price is attractive, no, I wouldn't buy them ever again. I would gladly pay 10 times as much, just not to have them squeal like this.
I used Volvo anti squeal shims as well, and this didn't help. The pads are lubed on their sliders, new pins, cleaned the slide hardware on the calipers, everything is good to go.
I've had them out 5 times already in 15,000 kms...
VLV world, stop carrying these pads... They DO stop the car, but I don't want everyone in the world knowing I'm stopping. Piss me right off.
That and I bought two new steering rack boots. One popped off, so I put a new tie wrap on and guess what?!? it ripped the boot along the bellows. Why?? The rack travel hasn't changed, just cheap boots. Off to Volvo OE I go. Yes, I will pay more, but, I am sure they will fit and last longer than 6 months.. This is crazy.
VLV World, I dunno if I will purchase from you again. And when I complained? I got NO RESPONSE!! Thanks for taking my money.
