girling or bendix calipers on a 740 700 1985

I have a 85 740 and I need to replace the front pads. I called my local parts store to see if they had pads for it and they asked if it had benix or girling calipers. I don't know I said. How can I tell what kind of caliper I have. also I have never changed pads before, I do have a chiltons maual. How hard is it and does anyone have any tips for changing the pads on this car.
