IRS drivetrain vibration 700 1989

Hi,

Lately I've been having a vibration right up the back (I think it might be CV joints). It occurs slightly when accelerating under load (mainly uphill), but is severe under hard braking with OD engaged (eg hard braking from 110kph). I'm sure it is not the center support as I replaced it, although the U-joints have not been replaced but still feel good.

Is checking the CV joints for wear straight forward, as I'm not sure of the procedure for this. I also thought that it might be the tailshaft bushing at the transmission, but there is no fluid leakage there. Everything else looks good and the car has been very well maintained.

The car is a 1989 760GLE with IRS, etc.

Thanks,
Tim, Australia.
