Problem Solved 200 1988

I finally broke down and took it to a Volvo mechanic. He had the car for 5 days and since the problem was sporadic, it started up for him everytime. He analyzed the spark and fuel and everything was fine. Finally, it wouldn't start for him. He replaced the cap and rotor and BINGO, started right up. I had replaced both of those items only about 4 months ago so I didn't suspect them. I had used NAPA parts and he told me he wouldn't put anything but Bosch on these cars. Luckily he had the parts that he took off a woman's car who insists on a complete tune up every 3,000 miles so they were basically brand new and he didn't charge me for them.

It costs me $50 for his time but it was well worth the lesson.

Thanks to everyone for all of your help.

Hurgie
