MPG report 200 1988

Checked mileage for the first time in about 5 years. After reading reports of diminishing MPG on the board I thought I should fill it up and check. The trip meter was zeroed and the car was filled up. I drive 20 miles one way to work with 3 stops, but mostly 55 mph all the way. I live in North Carolina so the air conditioner has been on everyday. Today the fuel needle was just touching the top of the red zone and read 291.1 miles. I topped it off with 11.31 gallons.
So, 291.1 / 11.31 = 25.74mpg

But, my odometer is 4% off, based on many observations of mileage markers, so I multiplied 291.1 X 96% and know that I really travelled only 279.5 miles. Still not bad at 279.5 / 11.31 = 24.72 mpg. I bought it new and now he's got 183,500 on the clock. I guess I'll keep him around a while longer.
