ICU Switch Test Failure 200

I think the thing that "rarely happens" is happening to me. My Ignition Control Unit seems to be failing. I only have about 8.9 volts going to the Terminal A of the Hall Sender from the ICU (I think I should have a full 12+ volts). I tried jumping Terminals B and C but did not get a spark.

So here is my question, will alternative ICU's from similar years work (mine is 1984)? I went to a local junk yard and found an 1985 ICU (#1346107) and an unknown year ICU (#1346105). Note: My 1984 ICU is #1317295. If someone knows if alternative ICU's will work PLEASE let me know! I am trying to avoid buying a new one when I'm not absolutely sure this is the problem. Thanks a lot.

Ben, 1984 242 (non-turbo)
