replacing temp gauge (difficulty level?) 120-130

Hello,

I recently acquired an OEM 122 temp gauge and sender unit which I would like to swap out with the old dead one. I'm wondering what I'm in for on this project in regards to time and pain-in-the-ass factor. Can this be accomplished without pulling the whole instrument cluster? I'm hoping that I can just take out and push to the side some of the dash switches under the left side of the steering wheel to give me a little room, then unscrew out the old gauge and put in the new one (while contorting upside down and blood pooling in my head...). Perhaps I'm just dreaming though, and it's going to be much more difficult?

Thanks all for your advice.
