Fuel filter change on 1982 kjet model(filter in engine bay) question 200

I'm having a hard time taking this filter off to change it. The connection on the right side seems to have two connections to remove but it is very difficult to remove. It's not like any connection i've ever seen.

Any detailed information or instructions?
