Hmmm... 200 1993

I've had some experience with shift lock problems, but never had to chase down the relay. However, the green book has it placed behind the dash console along the right support rail, below where you'd find the OD relay and near where the AC delay relay used to hang out. Has a blue red wire and yellow black.

When the solenoid fails to operate, check the brake lights to be sure they are on. If so, the other fuse can be checked by whether or not the snowflake light comes on when you set the AC switch. Two fuses. Most likely the brake light fuse with a stress crack in the middle.

I'm sure disabling this with a functioning solenoid (one not sticky with soft drinks) would mean having the relay apply power at all times with ignition on. This may not be good for the solenoid. Getting rid of the feature altogether would mean surgery on the shifter assembly. Not so appealing. Especially the part about unscrewing it from above the tranny.
