Injector Cleaning 700

Some folks may remember reading about my car's rough idle. I Did an injector clean today (probably the worst injector clean ever)

One of the injectors squirted out heaps of brown crap which may have been the cause of the rough running of my car.

Anyway, i thought I'd outline my method of injector cleaning incase someone is stupid enough to want to try it. I don't have an air compressor or electrical knowledge like others here, so I used nothing but myself and a lot of stupidity.

First take the pindle caps off the injector. Use a pair of needle nose pliers. Don't try to jimmy them off with a screw driver. You'll end up with a big hole in your finger from the screwdriver blade.

Then get a lid of some sorts. Spray fuel injector cleaner / throttle body cleaner into the lid untill a pool is formed that is large enough to entirely submerge the little injector nozzle.

Depress the Nozzle in the pool a few times. Gently!

Depress the Nozzle, put your mouth over the other end of the injector and suck a little bit. Then blow as hard as possible. If your injectors are dirty you will see the crap coming out of the injectors and the fluid becomes discoloured.

Repeat until nothing comes out of the injectors.

Final step is to order some new washers etc from FCP Groton. If you are from Australia, FCP Groton charges $30 dollars Australian for the whole 4 injectors incl. Postage...Repco charges $20 dollars for one injector...
