B20 thermometera and Haynes manual - thread size ? 120-130

Just want to jump on this topic with a question :
is it possible that the threads for the capillary sensor and the electric sensor are different ? I have two heads B20A lying around, one with an electric sensor, one unknown (just open hole). When I try to screw the electric sensor in the other head, it goes in, but blocks almost immediately. It looks like the diameters are the same, but not the threads per inch. I have been trying to measure the holes with a tpi gage, but my gage (and my close-range eyesight) seem not to be up to the task. If I recall well, must be something like 18 or 19 tpi.
Does anyone know if there was a difference between 121 heads and 144 heads - I mean for the thread size ? What kind of threads are they ?
I am soon into a head swap ; maybe I'll run into temperature indicator problems ??
Thx for any input,

John
