just bought a 1989 740 Wagon - Turbo Intercooler what can I expect?????....... 700 1989

Just bought an 89 740 Wagon Turbo Intercooler(210k kms, 130k miles +/- ). The body is very good condition -it needs rotors and pads all 'round. It runs well.

Other that that for a 16 year old car - the interior is in reasonable shape - no tears in the leather/cloth upholstery, etc. - no rust on the body.

PO - owned this car for 8 years...

This car is fully loaded - air - 2-way power sunroof, etc....

I have owned and worked on 240's for the past 20 years - however this is the first 700 series in the stable.

It is also the first automatic tranny I have owned - in a Volvo.

How can I tell if it is the "good" transmission - or the "lemon"?

Does this car have the infamous Nivomatt rear shocks???

What else should I be aware of - or be watching for service-wise down the road?

Thanks in Advance for all your input.

Goldy
