stalling 240 200 1986

About a year ago I became the proud owner of a automatic 1986 240 DL wagon. It was left to die under a tree, but I have spent series time restoring it and it is looking better all the time. Ever since I got it and got it to run there has been a constant problem. After starting up it needs to warm up for about 5-10 minutes. If not allowed to warm up it when put into gear it stalls. Or if it still runs then it has no horsepower. It will slowly go then a thump is heard under the car and it moves quicker. After a few minutes it is running smooth.

I have replaced the secondary electrical system, all filters, flame suppresser and such, actually a 70K service and any new parts from wheels, seats, trim. Does anybody got any ideas on how to fix it.

Also, I would like to know if I can replace the AC compresser with a later model compressor from a junk yard or any such up grades.
