…why I have no spark.

On a known good coil + I have a red wire from the ignition and one from the black box of a Crane Fireball XR700, which very recently was functioning just fine. On the coil – I have a white wire from the same box. The black wire from the box goes to a paint free grounded surface.
I also checked out the distributor mechanisms – chopper wheel and optical thingy, and all seem in order. Molar connection is good.
The LED on the box shows nothing and there’s no spark from the coil when I hold it near ground and crank the engine.
Does ANYBODY have any ideas?
