240 belt adjutments

Frist off I have found tht what realy helps is an electric screwdriver fitted with a hex-to-1/4 drive adapter and a 10mm socket. Worth its weight in lollipops fo sho.

Second - clockwise turning would make a screw or a bolt go in. Since it can't, the thing on the bolt moves out. Thus tightening the belt.

Was the alternator bolt that fell out an adjusting bolt or the main pivot? Seems unusual for either to fall out. Do they have lock nuts or aircraft nuts on them?

Regards,

Bob
