Fuel pump problems ? 200 1988

Hi Everyone, my 240 Wagon was running fine and then quit on me in the driveway one day. When I turn on the key, I don't here any fuel pumps. I checked the relay blade fuse under the hood, it's good and there is 12V of power to it's receptacle. Checked the fuses at the driver's kick panel there was no fuse in the 4th slot (intank pump fuse) put one in with no difference. Tried jumping the 4th fuse holder hotside to the 6th fuse holder hotside (main pump fuse) to bypass the relay, still nothing. I beleive the car was just running on the main pump before I had the problem. I dropped the main pump disconnected the 2 leads, turned the key on then checked for voltage at the leads but didn't get anything. I can't think of anything else to do according to the Haines manual. Can anyone help me? I sure need it. Thanks in advance. Ed
