Fuel leak? 200 1988

Just filled the tank up for the first time since I bought my 240. When I bought the car about 2 weeks ago, it had 3/4 tank of fuel. When I got home from the gas station, I noticed the smell, and checked under the car. Right in front of the drivers side rear wheel, there was in fact a leak with a frequency of about 1 drip every 2 seconds. I figured it was like my old ford pickup that when you filled it up all the way and shut it off, it would drip gas for a bit as the fuel system lost pressure. That only lasted for the first 10 miles or so however.

The dripping in the 240 continued constantly until the tank got down to 3/4 again. Although after 24 hours of constant dripping, the fuel gauge didnt budge. I thought maybe because I topped off the tank, it was some sort of overflow. I jacked up the car, and it appears to be coming from a line. Presumeably the return line because the car didnt run rough, or start hard. In fact it ran like a top even though it was dripping fuel, so I'm guessing there was no drop in fuel pressure which would also explain why it dripped constantly, and not just momentarily.

Sorry for the long-windedness of this post, but specifics make the difference.

Any ideas?? I'm thinking of just having the lines replaced, but I didnt know wether or not it was something intrinsic to Volvos, this being my first swedish experience.

Thanks in advance,

-Matt
