lug nuts, and studs

Howdy all,

The other day I dropped off the '86 240 wagon to the tire jockeys for the rotation balance routine. When I came back they handed me four lug nuts and a short length of curled up wire that had once been a thread. I have noticed before that the threads were getting a bit squirrelly so I don't blame them, much.

How do I replace the studs? Can I knock them out w/out removing the rotor? I am currently driving on four wheels :-) each one is missing a lug nut.

Thanks,
nathan
