Fuel pump saga (part 2) 200

First of all, thanks for all the help! I took out the remainder of the plugs, wiped them and dried them good. They all were kind of wet with gas. I started the car, stopped and started it 3 or 4 times, no problem. Also, I checked the main fuel pump and it's working fine while the car is running, no excessive noise, etc. But I look on the floor boards and I hadn't installed the #4 intank fuel pump fuse so I installed it and the car still started 4 or 5 times without any problems and it apears that engine is running smooth although I haven't gone for a ride yet as it is still on jacks. Is it possible to start and run without the #4 intank fuel pump fuse installed? Now long as she runs good, I'm not complaining but that just seems wierd to me. Any comments or explainations?
Regards and thanks again for all the help. I will make a site donation on payday
P.S. Also is there a reason why someone might have removed the intank fuel pump fuse in the first place?
