Odometer works intermittently 200 1990

I don't know about a 1990 but on an 83, the gear inside the shaft support can't be epoxyed to the shaft because there is no space to get a drop or two of epoxy down to the shaft. I pulled the shaft out, pricked it with a center punch three places around the shaft where the inner gear rides and put it back togehter. It has worked fine so far but its only been 500 miles. jp
