Mid summer I started cutting the grass with my 1988 John Deere 318 that I had been "restoring" by bits over the last year. I had been lusting for one since my brother bought a new one back in 1983. Major features are 18 HP Onan twin power, all hydralic power including steering with a 50" wide mower deck.

I finally bought this neglected soul last year and stripped all the "body" parts to the point where I could clean and adjust everything on the chassis. The body parts, (all the green panels), got sand blasted, epoxy primer, and two part new John Deere Green paint plus all new decals. The engine and hydraulic system got many new seals, wires, hoses and flushings.

The mower deck got a full nuts and bolts restoration as it was in real bad shape. Sandblasted etc. with all new bearings and blades.

My next task is to finsh reworking the 2 stage snow blower attachment for it that came from Colorado via eBay.

Anyone want a well maintained 1988 John Deere "Hydro 175"? 32" deck, 14 HP OHV Kawasaki,(The one with the reciprocating balance mass.... real smooth for a single cylinder).

Oh yeh, they both have bagging systems. I haven't racked a leaf since I got the '175!
