That the things discussed in this thread re: dealer honesty are likely true and wide spread.

ALSO: In many cases, the service writer is PAID a commission on the work he/she writes up. Their incentive is NOT in your favor.

There are, no doubt, dealers here and there that provide real honesty and good service. Most of us just cannot afford to find out via trial and error.

Thanks to all for this entire thread. As a 20-year 240 guy with a newly acquired 1997 965, I am as nervous as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. (Tennessee Ernie-ism)
