Testing Fuel Pump 200 1980

Can you hear the tank pump if you try to start the car?

Easier than that -- pull fuse 5 (tank pump) and jumper +12v* to the right (fused output) contact. If it's real quiet you can hear the pump. Or leave the jumper on and go back to listen at the filler pipe.

You can also test the Main pump by jumping the +12v* to the Left (unfused input) contact, which is where the fuel relay puts it when energized.

With fuse 5 in place, both pumps will get power.

* A handy +12v source is the LEFT side of any fuse 6 thru 10. Most people say to jumper from 7, just because it's an FI fuse I guess. It's not important.
