Starter Service Socket (off topic) 200 1990

You would have to use a hand-held starter switch, jumping from the battery to the starter solenoid.

Maybe easier and a bit safer than jumping to the starter solenoid would be jumping +12V to the starter "Service Socket", which all 240s have.

It's a short wire with a black plastic terminal end protruding from the main engine harness that runs across the upper firewall, a bit to the left of center.

I believe the wire is blue, but covered in black sheathing. It has a flat female terminal and is shown as item # 113 on the Bentley/Volvo diagrams.
