Is the Fan Shroud critical for cooling?

I'm not expert on that late a model but if it has a fan shroud you should
use it. It makes the fan MUCH more efficient.

The vacuum hose won't KILL you but you should put a new one on it.
It could certainly keep your car from running well or seriously
affect either fuel economy or emissions or both. It might not even
run very well at all.
