Need help diagnosing stall problem 700 1986

I don't think the wiring harness is an issue. I replaced it over a year ago with a good used one.

I searched the archives, but somehow missed the ignition amplifier as a potential problem. I just read the entry in the 700/900 FAQ and it sounds like my problem. Maybe I'll replace it on GP, as you say, and see what happens.

It's maddening that the problem can't be replicated, and of course when it recurs, I'm nowhere near a mechanic!
