Well lets see where to start,Go to Lowes hardware and buy the 4" flexible ducting they have, there was a plastic housing for the duct in the box also.
Now take the top off the air box, like your changing the filter, under the ir box are rubber gromets that hold the air box in place. You can hold these down while pullin the air box up and then take the air box out all together.
There will be a silver looking hot air tube that you will see hooked to the bottom of the air box, that goes away.
I then took my trusty dremel tool and with a cutting wheel attached proceeded to cut the air box door out from the bottom of my air box. After doing this I measured the amount of material to take off the box so that the plastic duct housing would or could be fitted in. Again the dremel tool worked well for this.
There were areas oround the fitting of this plastic housing that left air gaps,
I covered those areas up with bondo and got everything good and air tight.
From there it was just putting everything back in and hooking the duct work from the air box and threading the duct up in back of the grill so it could collect cool air. This was a mod you can feel by th seat of your pants.
Now on the down side of this, your doing away with your hot air tube which in some areas of the country might not let you get by you smog testing, with out all this stuff hooked up correctly. You may be able to get around this or not, high in the mts of Va, we haven't had to reckon with such problems, you may buy an extra air box from a juncked car and have a spare when the smog testing time comes.
