Hi Chris,

If this controversy was between an 002 and either other, there would be a problem-- the pinouts do not match.

But between 007 and 016, pinouts match and electrical characteristics are, um, similar, but the most obvious difference is the 016 lacks the CO pot.

So, an 016 may work in an LH2.2 car, which has no ability to adapt to the AMM's individual character. It would see the AMM as an 007 with the pot turned way past its 1000 ohm limit, and if it runs with an 016, the car is doing a huge amount of compensation for another mixture problem, such as vacuum leak or fuel pressure trouble. I can't recall whether an open circuit on the CO pot line would be rich or lean.

The opposite swap is much easier. In an LH2.4 car the pot, if it exists because someone put an 007 in place, is ignored anyway. I bought an LH2.4 car once and didn't discover it had the 007 for a month. It might have been a bit peppier after putting in the correct 016, but it was nothing to smack you in the face with poor performance or gas mileage.
