The light is on when a fault code is stored in the ABS control. Look at the 700/900 faq page on this site under "Brakes: ABS". You can retrieve the code in the ABS unit that causes the light to turn on with the instructions in the faq file.
The "Diagnostic Link Connector boxes" are black plastic boxes with snap closure lids, under the lid are numbered holes for the probe.
The "Diagnostic Link Connector probe" is the black wire with a "bullet" connector, in a holder on the side of the plastic box.
