It's not the tranny! 140-160 1975

Enlisted my daughter to start and put car in reverse multiple times. Engine mounts good, throttle linkage good, wire from solenoid to coil is tight. So I used a long screwdriver and started pushing wires.
The wire from the battery to the starter didn't like to be pushed from side to side! Right where it hangs down behind the distributer. Push it a little bit towards the engine, and death. Push it hard and nothing happens. Strange.
As soon as the engine cools off, that wire is coming out for a good inspection and the contact point on the solenoid will be cleaned.
Nice to know it is not the tranny! Still, a 500 rpm drop may be a future problem to solve.
Thanks,
Klaus
