It's really amazing they would use such a lame excuse, as every alignment shop I've visited has either a book or programming in their alignment machine's "computer" with all the Volvo specs.
I've had a couple of alignments about 15k mi apart on the 940 and been told by both shops they couldn't get it exactly right because the right side caster was off. New (poly) bushings only helped a little. This can only be corrected by installing a different length control arm strut rod....(FAQ's indicate there are three lengths).
